I am crazy about doing activities that allow me to use the different muscles that move my body in different ways. My feet are as fast as lightening, my arms love to stretch and climb the tallest trees and I like to roll my body down the bright, green, grassy hill that stands above my favourite jungle gym in the park. I love to pretend that I am in the circus. I perform balancing acts and hula-hooping until my imaginary crowd is dizzy with excitement.
My body becomes fidgety and squirmy when I’m sitting still for a long period of time because I am usually moving about. When this happens, it is as if I have dancing spaghetti in my legs, wobbly worms in my arms and piano-playing fingers that make me touch and twiddle anything within my reach.
However, I help my body to relax by taking big, deep breaths into my belly, taking warm, soothing bubble baths and receiving tranquil massages.
I am creating a new dance routine and cannot wait to move, groove, and express what is inside of me through the use of my body.
Have I told you about my Martial Arts Mastery? It teaches me how to balance my mind, body and heart so that I can live in peace and feel bold and ready for anything!
Please join me by embracing your Body Smarts through playing a game of catch, twirling and weaving around the playground, doing a silly slow-shuffle, or simply by giving yourself a big, warm, squishy hug.
“Take care of your body. It is where your heart lives. Let it feel free, allow It to move and nurture it every day.”
- Flo
Move your body like a gliding bird and then a stomping elephant.
Reach your arms to the sky, like a tree stretching its branches.
Pretend you are balloon floating up to the sky.
Imagine you are a boxer and punch the air really fast, then really slow.
Hug a pillow – squeeze it as hard as you possibly can and then let it go. It is important to move your body daily...so I say, make it fun!
Every body moves differently, every body looks differently and every body feels differently. No matter how your body is - remember to thank it for helping you do all that you can do. Maybe it helps you write, or run or sleep and so much more!
Say 'thank you body' and I promise you, your body will say 'your welcome.'
Being able to go with the flow is trusting that everything is happening the way it is meant to (rather than worrying about how or why something is happening.) When my mind feels free, so does my body! And when my mind is worried, my body starts to feel stiff and sore.
It is important for you to relax your mind so your body has a chance to relax too.
